Drunk driver jailed for third conviction
Lee Joseph Polchies, 47, of Fredericton, was belligerent with police when he was arrested
A Fredericton man busted for impaired driving for the third time last summer is sitting in a jail cell, serving a mandatory term of incarceration.
Lee Joseph Polchies, 48, of Paul Street, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Thursday for his sentencing hearing.
He previously pleaded guilty to Aug. 19, 2024, charges of flight from police and impaired driving.
Crown prosecutor Geoffrey Hutchin said at about 11 p.m. on the date in question, police received a call from a witness who reported that Polchies was drunk at the wheel of a grey Ford Ranger and headed for home on Paul Street.
