Drunk driver had double limit in system
Jeremy Kinney, 49, of Fredericton, reported to be all over road when police called Jan. 10
A Fredericton man’s blood-alcohol level was so high and his driving so bad when he was arrested earlier this year that a court hit him with a heftier fine even though he was a first-time offender.
Jeremy Kinney, 49, of Selkirk Crescent, made his first appearance in Fredericton provincial court Monday, where he pleaded guilty immediately to a charge of having an elevated blood-alcohol level within two hours of driving.
Crown prosecutor Christopher Lavigne said the events giving rise to the charge occurred Jan. 10, when the Fredericton Police Force received a call just after midnight about a possible impaired driver on Woodstock Road.
A witness reported a black GMC Sierra was all over the road, crossing the centre line repeatedly, the prosecutor said, and the truck even struck a ditch.
