A Fredericton man is facing time in federal prison after admitting Friday to a long list of offences, including multiple counts of possession of hard drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

Jared Blake Jude Stafford, 26, appeared in Fredericton provincial court in person and in custody Friday to answer to a variety of charges, most revolving around drug trafficking.

He elected to be tried in provincial court and pleaded guilty to all counts.

Federal prosecutor Derek Weaver relayed the general facts of the cases against the defendant ahead of sentencing.

He said that on March 31, 2023, RCMP officers were dispatched to Broad Road in Geary after receiving a report of a single-vehicle accident just before 10:30 p.m. that night.

“A pick-up truck had driven into a ditch,” the prosecutor said.
