Don’t take those snow tires off yet…
Environment and Climate Change Canada’s weather service issues special statement for all of New Brunswick, advising of wet, heavy snowfall starting Wednesday night through Friday
The federal weather service says Old Man Winter isn’t done with New Brunswick yet - not by a long shot.
Environment and Climate Change Canada’s weather service issued a special weather statement early Tuesday morning, advising that heavy, wet snow is expected in the province this week.
“Significant early spring snowfall possible,” the advisory stated, noting it was in effect for all of New Brunswick.
The snowfall is predicted to begin Wednesday night and to continue through to Friday morning, it said, with “potential” snowfalls amounting to 10 to 20 centimetres in most areas, with 30 cm forecast for northeastern New Brunswick.
“The snow is likely to be very wet and heavy in nature. This, along with gusty easterly winds, may cause tree branches to break,” the weather statement said.
“Utility outages may occur. Both morning and evening commutes on Thursday are likely to be affected by this weather system. Rain may mix in at times along the Fundy coast.”
