Loved ones of a murder victim left a King’s Bench courtroom crying Wednesday morning after a judge granted a Crown motion to adjourn the jury trial, which had been set to start in just two weeks.
Joshua John McIsaac, 35, formerly of Penniac, and Erica Lea Ann Blyth, 42, of Newcastle Creek near Chipman, were scheduled to stand trial before a judge and jury in the Court of King’s Bench on April 23 on a joint charge of first-degree murder.

They’re accused of killing Brandon Patrick Donelan, 27, in the Chipman area, on Jan. 28, 2022.
However, during a pre-trial conference Wednesday in the main courtroom at the Burton Courthouse, provincial Crown prosecutor James McConnell made a request to adjourn the upcoming jury trial, which had been scheduled to run six weeks.
