Diversion approved in sex-assault case
John Paul Albert, 49, of Fredericton, to go through alternate measures for summary charge
A Fredericton man accused of a summary sexual-assault charge is being given the chance to avoid a criminal record and the court process by going through an alternate-measures program.
John Paul Albert, 49, of Fieldstone Court, was charged earlier this year with a Nov. 16 count of sexual assault.

There’s a court-ordered publication ban in effect protecting the identity of the complainant.
He was back in Fredericton provincial court Monday, scheduled to enter a plea to the summary charge, but court heard the Crown and defence had resolved the matter.
