Disclosure incomplete in Sabattis murder case
Jared Josiah Smith, 38, of Burton, accused of killing Welamukotuk chief’s sister April 27
Counsel for a Burton man accused of killing a Welamukotuk (Oromocto) First Nation woman two months ago told a court Monday he’s still waiting on disclosure from the Crown.
Jared Josiah Smith, 38, of Burton, appeared in Fredericton provincial court in person and in custody Monday, scheduled to set down his second-degree murder charge for a preliminary inquiry.
The charge arose from the April 27 death of Sheri Lynn Sabattis, 54, in a Welamukotuk home. The RCMP arrested Smith the same day.
