Disclosure delayed in school-assault case
Defence counsel for teacher Suzanne Ross, 33, of Rusagonis, says he requested Crown file in November, but judge points out city police only laid summary charge against her in May
Disclosure of the Crown file in a case of a teacher accused of assaulting a young student last fall was delayed because the material had to be translated, a prosecutor told the court Thursday.
Suzanne Ross, 33, of Jake Street in Rusagonis, was back in Fredericton provincial court Thursday on a summary charge of assault.
She’s accused of assaulting a boy Sept. 19 at l’École les Éclaireurs, a francophone school in Fredericton where Ross was teaching at the time.
Ross has opted for her court proceedings to be held in French.
