Defendant admits to Keswick Ridge sex crimes
Brian Porter, 70, of Nauwigewauk, had minor touch him sexually, exposed himself to her
A man from the Saint John area set to stand trial on allegations he sexually abused a minor in the capital region last year instead opted to admit to his crimes.
Brian Porter, 70, of Bonney Road in Nauwigewauk, about 25 kilometres northeast of Saint John, appeared in Fredericton provincial court with defence lawyer Edward Derrah on Wednesday.
Porter was scheduled to stand trial on indictable charges of inviting or counselling an underage girl to touch him for a sexual purpose and committing an indecent act by exposing his genitals to that same child, stemming from events in Keswick Ridge, near Fredericton, between Jan. 1 and June 17, 2023.
