Allison Boulevard reopens to one lane
Fredericton Police Force advises people avoid area after accident downs power lines
The Fredericton Police Force is advising motorists to avoid Allison Boulevard near the city dump, as a motor-vehicle accident has downed power lines, forcing police to close the road.

The city police posted on social media at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday about an incident near the main garbage processing facility in Fredericton.
“Fredericton police are currently responding to a motor-vehicle accident near 1775 Allison Blvd. (Fredericton Region Solid Waste),” the post stated.
“The road is closed at this time due to downed power lines.”
The force urged people to avoid the area as emergency crews respond to the scene, noting delays can be expected.
In an update posted at 9 p.m., police advised Allison Boulevard had reopened, but only for one lane of traffic, so delays in the area will continue as crews work at the scene.
“The road is expected to be fully reopened in both directions by morning,” the force reported. “Please use caution in the area.”
