‘Armed and dangerous’ suspect in custody
Police issued alert Saturday seeking tips about Robert Tanner Banks, 30, of Fredericton
A wanted Fredericton man whom authorities described as “armed and dangerous” has been found and arrested, reports the Fredericton Police Force.
The force issued an advisory through social media Saturday afternoon about Robert Tanner Banks, 30, of Fredericton, whom police believed is travelling in a 2022 Black Ford Bronco.
“He was last observed by police travelling north at a high rate of speed on Killarney Road and is believed to be heading towards Miramichi,” the social-media post stated.
“The public is advised not to approach Banks or the vehicle, as he is considered armed and dangerous. If you observe Banks or the vehicle, please call 911.”
Shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday morning, though, the Fredericton Police Force updated its social-media post, advising Banks had been found.
“Robert Tanner Banks has been apprehended and is now in custody,” it said.
There was no mention of whether there are impending charges or an expected appearance in court.
