Cop-assault suspect denied bail
Kyle Brennan McCoy, 36, of Burton, also found fit to stand trial after psychiatric assessment
A Burton man accused of seriously injuring a Fredericton police officer last month has been found fit to stand trial, but a judge ruled last week his ongoing detention was justified.
Kyle Brennan McCoy, 36, of Route 102 in Burton but formerly of Fredericton, was charged last month with April 11 counts of assault causing bodily harm to Fredericton police Const. Daniel LeBlanc and breach of a judicial release order.

After several delays, his bail hearing was held in Fredericton provincial court Thursday, and he appeared by video from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre for the proceeding.
