Convicted sex offender still denies guilt
Chad Robert Randall, 50, of Fredericton, tells court he violated registration order because doing so is “very frustrating,” given he still disputes 2011 conviction for sexual assault
A Fredericton man told a court Thursday that he keeps violating a sex-offender registration order because it makes him relive the trauma of what he contends was a wrongful conviction for sexual assault.
Chad Robert Randall, 50, of Victoria Street, previously pleaded guilty to breaching a court order under the Sex Offender Information Registration Act (SOIRA) by failing to report in person to the registration centre between Jan. 19 and Feb. 19, 2022, as he was required to do annually.
He was back before Fredericton provincial court Judge Natalie LeBlanc for sentencing Thursday.
