Construction firm admits to safety violation
Drummond company J.P.M. Construction Inc. admits fault in Oct. 12 injurious incident
A northern New Brunswick construction company will be sentenced next month after admitting to a safety lapse that led to labourers being injured on the job when a truss system collapsed last fall.
Jean-Paul Moreau, acting on behalf of his business, J.P.M. Construction Inc., based in Drummond, about 200 kilometres north of Fredericton, pleaded guilty in Fredericton provincial court Monday to a charge under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
He admitted the company failed to provide and ensure continuous use of a fall-protection system in an elevated work area.
