The collapse of a truss system at a construction project in Fredericton last year that seriously injured two workers led to charges against two New Brunswick companies, says WorkSafe New Brunswick.

The Greystone Group of Companies Inc., a Grand Falls-based developer, and J.P.M. Construction Inc., based in Drummond, had their first appearances in Fredericton provincial court Monday on separate Occupational Health and Safety Act charges, but arising from the same incident.

The charges were laid by WorkSafe New Brunswick, the province’s workplace-safety watchdog agency.
