Transport crash damages Minto bridge
RCMP reports that parts of Pleasant Drive are shut down Thursday morning due to collision
Traffic tangles in Minto on Thursday morning stemmed from a transport truck rolling over onto its side and damaging the community’s stone bridge, taking out some power lines in the process.
The Minto detachment of the RCMP announced through social media at 7:30 a.m. Thursday that a collision has led officials to close Pleasant Drive (Route 10) to traffic.

It said Pleasant Drive is closed at its intersections with Yeamans Road, Bridge Street and Lake Drive.
“Please avoid the area, and allow extra time for travel,” the RCMP said.
Reports from the scene indicated a transport truck went off the read, and a Fredericton Independent reader confirmed that by sending in a photo of the large vehicle.
It shows a transport on its side at the end of the stone bridge in Minto, and there’s clearly been damage to the span.
Damaged utility lines can be seen in the image as well, and village residents reported power outages Thursday morning.
The RCMP hasn’t indicated the number of the vehicles involved in the collision or if anyone was injured. However, it stated more information would be released at a later time.
