A Fredericton man who was arrested last week and detained over the weekend on suspicion of drug trafficking was released on conditions after a court appearance Monday.

Mohammad Abualhawa, 24, of McInnis Court, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video conference from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Monday, scheduled to be through a bail hearing.

He was accused of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possessing $300 in Canadian currency deemed to be the proceeds of crime, both alleging Friday events.
