City man gets 62 months for break-ins, drugs

A Fredericton man who broke into summer properties at Yoho Lake and was later busted with narcotics and stolen stamps for trafficking purposes is headed to prison for his crimes.
George Edward Andrew Joseph Pearce, 52, of Eastwood Street, appeared in Fredericton provincial court in person and in custody Friday to hear Judge Mélanie Poirier LeBlanc’s decision on sentence.

The offender previously admitted to breaking into the Yoho Lake homes of Scott Brown and Shawn Hartt and uttering threats to cause death and/or bodily harm to Matthew O’Donnell, on June 15; possessing hydromorphone, Oxycodone and stolen Canada Post stamps for the purpose of trafficking, and possessing shotgun shells while prohibited Sept. 23 at Coles Island; and breaching a release between Oct. 19 and 30 requiring him to reside at the Village of Hope drug-rehab facility in Upper Tracy.
