City man denies having stolen copper wire
Charge against Anthony Arthur Munro, 58, of Fredericton, alleges he planned sell loot
A Fredericton man accused of having a stash of stolen copper wire denied the allegation this week.
Anthony Arthur Munro, 58, of Kingsley Road, appeared in Fredericton provincial court with his defence lawyer, T.J. Burke, on Tuesday to answer to a stolen-property charge.
He’s accused of possessing copper wire March 22 for the purpose of trafficking, knowing the wire was obtained through crime.
Burke said his client was electing to be tried in provincial court and pleaded not guilty.
The defence lawyer said he expects a full day of court time will be needed for trial.
Judge Lucie Mathurin set the matter over to Aug. 8 to schedule a date for trial.
