Police officers are returning to Fredericton’s two anglophone high schools, but there are those who are concerned it’ll be to the detriment of students rather than their benefit and safety.

The Fredericton Police Force and Anglophone School District West issued a joint news release Tuesday announcing that the police force will once again be stationing officers - dubbed school resource officers (SROs) - at the city’s anglophone high schools.

“This agreement will see two officers designated to Fredericton area high schools and middle school with dedicated office space at both Leo Hayes High School and Fredericton High School,” the release said.
