Chipman man denies aggravated assault
James Heinrich Shorten, 29, accused of wounding, maiming and/or disfiguring another man
A Chipman man accused of serious assaults, including one with a crowbar, denied the allegations in court last week and is headed to trial in a year’s time.
James Heinrich Shorten, 29, of Red Bank Drive, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Thursday to answer to two indictable charges.
They allege he committed an aggravated assault on Joshua Bishop by wounding, maiming or disfiguring him, and that he assaulted Bishop with a weapon - a crowbar - both on April 15 in Chipman.
