Child-abduction suspect released
Florenceville-Bristol woman sprung on conditions after bail hearing in Court of King’s Bench
A Florenceville-Bristol woman accused of parental abduction succeeded in her bail application in a superior court Friday, though court heard the case could resolve without trial.
A 43-year-old woman was remanded in January in Fredericton provincial court after being charged with two counts of parental abduction in violation of a custody order.
The charges allege Jan. 4 events in Beardsley, just south of Woodstock.
The identities of the two children named in the charges are protected by a court-ordered publication ban, and given the defendant’s relationship to the kids, both under the age of 14, Fredericton Independent isn’t naming the accused either.
