Cannabis, flavoured vapes seized in July bust
Provincial enforcement officers, city police effected arrest last month at York County Vape & Smoke Shop in uptown Fredericton, reports Department of Justice and Public Safety
A 46-year-old man is slated to appear in court this fall after police and enforcement officers raided what the province describes as an illegal cannabis dispensary in July.
“Various cannabis products were seized from an unlicensed dispensary in Fredericton on July 23 during a joint operation involving Justice and Public Safety peace officers and the Fredericton Police Force,” the provincial department said in a news release Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at the York County Vape & Smoke Shop at 1168 Smythe St., the release said, indicating a 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
It’s expected he’ll face a charge or charges under the Cannabis Act, it said, and his initial appearance in Fredericton provincial court is scheduled for Oct. 4.
The York County Vape & Smoke Shop’s page on Facebook indicates it was previously known as Big Budz & Accessories, and it’s located in the strip mall at Smythe Street Plaza.
The Department of Justice and Public Safety reports that among the items officers seized at the shop last month were 1.6 kilograms of cannabis bid, 27.5 g hashish, 30 packs of cannabis shatter (low-grade marijuana), 68 vapes containing THC, 74 joints, 58 THC edibles, 52 flavoured vape cartridges and $3,239 in cash.
