Canadian Tire assault suspect is fit - report
Colin Jaffar Rogers, 28, of Fredericton, asks to postpone hearing on psychiatric assessment
A Fredericton man who’s been disruptive and erratic during previous court appearances after being charged with a violent robbery last month was calmer during a brief proceeding Monday.

Colin Jaffar Rogers, 28, of Westbrook Lane, is accused of committing an aggravated assault on Joseph Godin by wounding him and endangering his life, assaulting Godin with a utility knife, assaulting Godin with intent to rob the southside Canadian Tire, possessing a machete for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, assaulting Fredericton police Const. Deana Joka and resisting Const. Matt MacMellan.
The charges all stem from a violent incident at the Smythe Street store the evening of March 20 that sent one person - now known to be Godin - to hospital.
