The Fredericton courthouse experienced its own Jekyll and Hyde saga this week, with a homeless man acting calmly and respectfully in front of one judge, and explosively angry before others.

Joshua Daniel Grant Burden, 49, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Friday for sentencing on June 19 counts of uttering a threat and breaching a probation order.

He previously admitted to those offences that stemmed from an outburst he had in court before Judge Scott Brittain on that date.

Given who the complainant was, an outside judge - Nova Scotia provincial court Judge Diane McGrath - presided over Friday’s sentencing hearing.
