Break-in suspect denied bail
Joshua Daniel Grant Burden, 49, of no fixed address, is accused of burglarizing provincial transport yard, unlawful entry into home, both on Fredericton’s north side last week
Despite being denied release after a bail hearing, a homeless man prone to profane and violent outbursts remained calm and composed during a virtual court appearance Tuesday.
Joshua Daniel Grant Burden, 49, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video conference from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Tuesday for a bail hearing.
He was remanded last week after being charged with a May 12 count of break, enter and theft at a Department of Transportation and Infrastructure bridge yard on Currie Avenue, and May 13 charges of unlawful entry at a St. Mary’s Street residence with intent to commit an offence and possession of stolen Government of New Brunswick cards.
The evidence presented at Tuesday’s bail hearing and the reasons for the judge’s decision are subject to a ban on publication until the cases conclude, at the defence’s request.
