More than two hundred people from the Sitansisk (St. Mary’s) First Nation gathered at the Justice Building in downtown Fredericton on Monday afternoon.

They were there to honour slain family member and friend Mark (Barnzie) Albert Brooks II, 71, and to call for justice to be done.

Monday marked the first public court appearances for two 17-year-old boys charged after Brooks was killed at the Tim Hortons on Union Street on Friday night.

Neither defendant can be identified, as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
