A Fredericton man who broke into a home in a failed attempt to steal a firearm while masked four years ago is headed to prison.

Tyson Wade McCoy, 31, of Mason Avenue, was back before Fredericton provincial court Judge Natalie LeBlanc on Friday to learn what she decided would be a fit sentence for a masked break-in in the fall of 2021.

The judge had found him guilty after trial of a break-in and attempted robbery at a Gibson Street apartment, and masking his face during the offence Sept. 12, 2021.
