A would-be killer is back behind bars, accused of violating the conditions of his release from prison last summer.
Benjamin Darren Nason, 49, formerly of Beaver Dam, tried to kill Beth Wallace at her Lincoln Heights home in Fredericton on Jan. 29, 2013.
During his trial on a count of attempted murder, a jury heard that he showed up at her home in the middle of the night in a drunken and jealous rage, carrying a high-powered rifle.
Nason assaulted Wallace and told her if he couldn’t have her, no one else would either.
Wallace managed to flee the home and ran to a neighbour’s house, court heard, but as she ran, Nason took aim and fired.
