A Lincoln man accused of setting a fire at Fredericton’s regional hospital late last year is going to be assessed by a psychiatrist to determine if he might be exempt from criminal responsibility.

Robert Mason Legge, 68, of Prestige Lane, faces Fredericton Police Force charges alleging that he attempted to cause damage by fire to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Dec. 12 and that he assaulted April Knowles using a weapon - namely, fire - on that same date.

His case was before Fredericton provincial court Wednesday.
