A capital-region man scheduled to stand trial in a couple of weeks on assault allegations who’s fired two defence lawyers twice so far pleaded with a judge Friday to help him get new counsel.
Kyle Brennan McCoy, 37, formerly of Burton and Fredericton, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Friday by telephone from a custodial facility for a monitoring appearance on numerous charges.
He had previously pleaded not guilty to Feb 9, 2024, counts of assault causing bodily harm to Noah Trebble and breach of probation; April 11, 2025, counts of assault causing bodily harm to Fredericton police Const. Daniel LeBlanc and breach of a judicial release order; and prior counts of breaching his release orders.
