Woman’s disappearance deemed major crime
RCMP reports top detectives now delving into what became of Kari Lynn Rose Campbell, 38, of Fredericton, who went missing three years ago after last sighting in Durham Bridge
Kari Rose Lynn Campbell was last seen at a home in the capital region three years ago today, and on the anniversary of her disappearance, the RCMP has escalated its efforts to discover what happened to her.
The New Brunswick RCMP announced Monday that its major crime unit is taking over the investigation into the disappearance of Campbell, 38, of Fredericton.
“Kari Lynn Rose Campbell was last seen on Aug. 19, 2021, outside of a home on Lower Durham Road in Durham Bridge,” the force said in a news release Monday.
“She was reported missing to the Fredericton police on Aug. 22, 2021.”
Not long after she was reported missing, the RCMP said, its Keswick detachment assumed carriage of the investigation, given where she was last seen.
Officers with the Keswick RCMP followed up on several leads, but to date they have been unsuccessful in locating her.
"No file is ever closed until it is solved, and our priority remains to locate Kari Lynn Rose Campbell," New Brunswick RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Hans Ouellette said in the release.
"There may be someone out there who has information they haven't brought forward before, or who may now remember details that could help the investigation and help bring closure to her family."
Campbell was wearing a grey sweater, blue jeans and black-and-grey Under Armour shoes when she was last seen, and she was carrying a brown purse.
She’s described as being about 5’2” (157 centimetres) tall, weighing about 120 pounds (54 kilograms), with medium-length brown hair, blue eyes.
Campbell has butterfly tattoos on her leg and forearm, and a sun tattoo on her shoulder blade, the RCMP release said.
The RCMP is urging anyone with information that could further the investigation to call its major crime unit at 1-888-506-7267.
