Winds to howl on Halloween
Special weather statement issued for all of New Brunswick for Friday due to high winds
If you see Harry Potter fly by your window on a broom this Halloween, it’s not a game of Quidditch, but rather likely due to some wild weather that’s expected Friday.
Environment and Climate Change Canada’s weather service issued a special weather statement for all of New Brunswick early Wednesday morning, advising that some wet and windy weather could make for a messy Halloween on Friday.

Its forecast is calling for rain and gusty winds Friday throughout the province.
In the Fredericton area specifically, the weather service is predicting 30 to 50 millimetres of rain, possibly more, with east to southeasterly winds reaching up to 70 kilometres per hour.
“There remains some uncertainty as to where the highest rainfall amounts will occur, but the potential exists for significant totals over some locations. Warnings may be required for some areas,” the advisory said.
“Secure outdoor items such as Halloween decorations and garbage bins so they don’t blow around in strong winds.”
