RCMP had issued missing-person advisory about Cody Hibbs, 29, of Oromocto First Nation
A Welamukotuk (Oromocto) First Nation man who was reported as missing to police on the weekend has been located, the RCMP reports.
The RCMP’s Oromocto detachment issued an alert Monday morning advising that it was seeking the public’s help in locating Cody Hibbs, 29, of Welamukotuk First Nation.
“Cody Hibbs was last seen on Aug. 15, 2024, in the community of Oromocto First Nation. He was reported missing to police on Aug. 17,” the RCMP said in a news release Monday.
“Police have followed up on several leads to try and locate him, but have so far been unsuccessful. Police and his family are concerned for his well-being.”
However, in a followup release late Tuesday morning, the detachment announced Hibbs had been found safe, and it thanked the public for its assistance.
