Water-tech company fined $5K
WorkSafe New Brunswick charged EvoQua Water Technologies Ltd. after accident saw new worker injured when metal fragment punctured his neck, carotid artery on job in Oct. 2023
An employee had only been on the job a week at a water-technology company when a rogue fragment from a metal-punching machine punctured his neck and hit his carotid artery, court heard Wednesday.

EvoQua Water Technologies Ltd., an industrial water firm that has an operation in the Vanier Industrial Park on Wilsey Road in Fredericton, previously pleaded guilty to a provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act charge, and it was before Fredericton provincial court for sentencing Wednesday.
The company admitted last month that it failed to provide necessary instruction to ensure an employee’s health and safety on the job Oct. 24, 2023.
