Counsel for a Crown corporation denied allegations on its behalf Monday that it failed to follow guidelines with respect to asbestos and didn’t inform an employee of its presence in a workplace.

Those counts allege NB Power failed to adopt a Code of Practice for Working with Materials Containing Asbestos in New Brunswick, failed to acquaint an employee with any hazard in connection with the handling of asbestos, and failed to protect a worker’s health and safety by informing that individual there was asbestos at a jobsite in Fredericton, all between May 23, 2012 and March 14, 2024.
