A Dow Settlement woman was clearly nervous, her bright pink sneakers bouncing on the floor as she sat in a Fredericton courtroom Wednesday, waiting to learn her sentence in a drug-trafficking operation.

And when the judge rejected the defence’s request for a conditional sentence to be served in the community, the offender began to weep openly.

Adrienne Susan Dickison, 34, of Route 122 in Dow Settlement, about 25 kilometres southeast of Woodstock and 80 km west of Fredericton, was back in Fredericton provincial court Wednesday for a decision on sentence.

She’d previously pleaded guilty to an indictable charge of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
