The RCMP has charged a second suspect in an aggravated-assault investigation alleged to have occurred two months ago, and the new defendant is the twin brother of the first.

Skylar Victor Clark Paul, 29, of Veterans Court on the Bilijk (Kingsclear) First Nation, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by telephone from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Wednesday morning.

He was already in custody on Dec. 23 counts of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, but the RCMP laid a new, unrelated charge against him.

Skylar Paul is now accused of committing an aggravated assault on Jeff Paul by wounding, maiming, disfiguring or otherwise endangering his life Nov. 30 at Bilijk First Nation.
