A Fredericton man facing an allegation of trafficking meth in the capital this summer opted last week to admit to a lesser, included crime, and he’ll be sentenced later this year.

Owen John Jonas Watt, 24, of Brunswick Street, appeared in Fredericton provincial court by video from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Friday, scheduled to elect mode of trial and enter pleas to three charges.

He’s accused of trafficking in methamphetamine and violating a court-ordered weapons prohibition by possessing ammunition, both on July 14; as well as a count of being unlawfully at large in violation of a sentence in Fredericton on April 8.
