A defence lawyer told a court Thursday a psychiatric assessment that indicated his client isn’t exempt from criminal responsibility should have examined alleged Boiestown offences on top of ones from Fredericton.

Robert Tanner Banks, 30, of Fredericton, appeared in Fredericton provincial court remotely from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre on Thursday, scheduled for a hearing on his mental state at the time of various offences.

Banks is accused of breaching release order by contacting Jessica Jones three times last month; breaking into a Gulliver Drive home and forcibly entering that same residence, both on Oct. 24; and obstructing police, fleeing from police in a motor vehicle and driving dangerously Oct. 26, all in Fredericton.
