A capital-region resident remains in custody as he faces charges alleging he boosted an ambulance and drove it while prohibited by a court order from getting behind the wheel of any vehicle.

Dominic Demerchant, 24, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Monday by telephone from a custodial facility, scheduled to enter pleas on several charges dating back to last spring.
