Teacher admits to luring, sexual touching
Christopher (“Topher”) Lee Jackson, 44, of Fredericton, previously denied allegations of sexual contact with high-school student between 2023-2024; sentencing set for March 19
Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story indicated there were two sexual-touching charges laid in the case and one of sexual assault, when in fact, there were two sexual-assault counts and only one of sexual touching while in a position of authority. We regret the error.
A former Leo Hayes High School teacher admitted Tuesday he had an inappropriate relationship with a student, touching her buttocks and kissing her at school, and dry-humping her one time at his home.
Christopher (“Topher”) Lee Jackson, 44, of Wellington Court, was scheduled to stand trial in Fredericton provincial court Tuesday and Wednesday on two sexual-assault charges, one of online luring and one counts of sexual exploitation by touching a minor while in a position of trust or authority.
The charges allege events between Oct. 1, 2023, and Feb. 12, 2024.
There’s a court-ordered publication ban in effect protecting the identity of the victim.
