A Fredericton man accused of trying to take away a police officer’s firearm and of a subsequent domestic assault was released on conditions following a bail hearing Monday.

Tyson Maurice Sacobie, 38, of Epworth Circle, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Monday afternoon by video conference from the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre for his bail hearing.

He faces Aug. 2 charges of attempting to take a firearm from Fredericton police Const. Olivier Gallant, uttering threats to him, and resisting Gallant and Const. Eric Cassista in the execution of their duty; and of assaulting Kaylee Allen in Fredericton on Jan. 8.
