Suspect held on copper-theft, shotgun counts

A judge remanded a New Brunswick man into custody Thursday after the RCMP laid charges alleging he committed copper-theft and firearm offences Wednesday.

Robert Gordon Joseph King, 36, of Clarendonn N.B., but formerly of Saskatchewan, appeared in Fredericton provincial court Thursday morning by telephone from the RCMP detachment in Grand Bay-Westfield.

He faces new charges of stealing copper wiring valued at more than $5,000, possessing stolen copper wiring, carelessly storing a shotgun and possessing the shotgun without a licence.
