St. Stephen men deny drugs, weapons charges

Two St. Stephen-area men accused of drug-trafficking, weapons and various other offences in Fredericton last year denied all counts against them Thursday, and they’ll stand trial at the end of the year.

Laren B. Leavitt, 47, formerly of Regent Street in Fredericton and now residing in St. Stephen, and Stephen Andrew Mohan, 44, of Victoria Street in St. Stephen, are jointly charged with possessing heroin and fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possessing prohibited weapons (brass knuckles and a machete) and possessing break-in instruments (a crowbar and power tools) in Fredericton on May 13.

Additionally, Leavitt is charged with impaired driving, possessing ammunition (222 Remington rounds and a 556 round) and brass knuckles while prohibited by a court order, and possessing a prohibited knife, also alleged to have occurred May 13.
