Cleanup is underway in a Fredericton neighbourhood after a recent fuel spill, but affected residents say they’ve received no official or direct communication from government or a developer involved in the incident.

The City of Fredericton issued a public notice through social media Saturday afternoon about an environmental issue in a residential neighbourhood near Golf Club Road on the city’s south side, though it didn’t indicate when the incident occurred.

“The neighbourhood of Glengarry Place and Golf Club Road is advised that a diesel fuel spill has occurred in the area, affecting a limited number of residents and the city’s stormwater management system,” the advisory stated.

“The spill occurred on a nearby private construction site.”
