A week after he was a no-show in court to answer to sexual-assault allegations, a Hanwell man sat before a judge in custody, but he wouldn’t be detained for long.

Jacob Robert Warman, 24, of Ferguson Road, had been issued a summons to appear in Fredericton provincial court docket Jan. 20 for his first appearance on several charges.

They allege he sexually assaulted a woman in Hanwell between Oct. 3 and 31, 2024; and again between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28, 2025; and that he breached a police undertaking to have no contact with her, first in Hanwell between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28, 2025, and again in McGivney between June 1 and Aug. 17.

Warman didn’t appear as required last week, so a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.
