Just a couple of months before he’s scheduled to stand trial on an indictable sexual-assault charge, a Wirral man told court he’d finally retained defence counsel to represent him.

Luke Cote, 43, of Sandbrook Road in Wirral, about 60 kilometres southeast of Fredericton, elected in late January to be tried in provincial court and pleaded not guilty to a charge alleging he sexually assaulted someone in Durham Bridge on July 29, 2024.
