An up-river man who denied allegations of assault and sexual assault arising out of the Noonan and Grand Lake last year is no longer headed to trial, as the Crown withdrew the charges Thursday.

Lane Leo Lewis, 25, of Route 109 in Craig Flats, located about 80 kilometres north of Woodstock, pleaded not guilty last year to a count of sexual assault on a complainant in Noonan, near Fredericton, between between Feb. 1 and 28, 2025; and to a summary count of assault on the same complainant in Princess Park, in the Grand Lake area, between March 1 and 31.
