Sawed-off rifles draw prison term

A Moncton-area man busted with sawed-off firearms and stolen property in Oromocto last fall sought time served Tuesday so he could go to rehab, but a judge sent him to prison instead.
Marc LeBlanc, 44, of no fixed address, appeared in Fredericton provincial court in person and in custody Tuesday for a sentencing hearing, having pleaded guilty to several Sept. 30 offences.

Among the counts to which he’s admitted were possession of two sawed-off rifles for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, violations of bans against possessing firearms and other weapons, possession of stolen property and mischief causing damage to a vehicle.
